Kids' CD suggestions for the pop-culture impaired?
I am going shopping for birthday gifts for a boy and girl, turning 9 and 10 years old. They both said they want CDs. The 9-yr. boy likes Naked Brothers Band and the 10-yr. girl likes Avril Lavigne, but they already have all their CDS.
I don't know squat about what's 'hot' these days; I need suggestions for some artists in the same genre as Avril and N.B.B. that are appropriate for their age groups.
P.S.- Both kids told me that Kidz Bop "is NOT cool", just so everyone knows...Kids' CD suggestions for the pop-culture impaired?
How about the Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana?
*Edit - HA...I just saw everyone elses answers and realized mines not very original. LOL
*Edit@ - Boys listen to Jonas Brothers and girls will listen to both. Girls will also listen High Scool Musical Soundtrack (I think someone already mentioned that one too.)
Hannah Montana/Mylie Cyrus, Sean Kingston maybe - it's hip-hop/reggae with no bad words, maybe get a mix cd like the Grammy nominees or one put out by MTV... Good luck!Kids' CD suggestions for the pop-culture impaired?
Maybe Taylor Swift for the girl. She's a really popular country/pop singer.
You could try Radio Disney Jams 10. It features Naked Brothers Band, Hannah Montana, Emily Osmet (from Hannah Montana show), Corbin Bleu (High School Musical) etc.Kids' CD suggestions for the pop-culture impaired?
yeah kidz bop is definately not cool lol
Miley Cyrus/ Hannah Montana is all the rage right now. Or the Jonas Brothers.
Paramore for both.
You can always go for Hanna Montana cd for the girl
or High School Musical??

Poll How many of yous think that this is a very inspirational story?
10 points to the preson who can tell my the name of it,and who wrote it?
I spent the week before my daughter's June wedding running last-minute trips to the caterer, florist, tuxedo shop, and the church about forty miles away. As happy as I was that Patsy was marrying a good Christian young man, I felt laden with responsibilities as I watched my budget dwindle . . . so many details, so many bills, and so little time. My son Jack was away at college, but he said he would be there to walk his younger sister down the aisle, taking the place of his dad who had died a few years before. He teased Patsy, saying he'd wanted to give her away since she was about three years old!
To save money, I gathered blossoms from several friends who had large magnolia trees. Their luscious, creamy-white blooms and slick green leaves would make beautiful arrangements against the rich dark wood inside the church.
After the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding, we banked the podium area and choir loft with magnolias. As we left just before midnight, I felt tired but satisfied this would be the best wedding any bride had ever had! The music, the ceremony, the reception - and especially the flowers - would be remembered for years.
The big day arrived - the busiest day of my life - and while her brides maids helped Patsy to dress, her fianc茅e Tim, walked with me to the sanctuary to do a final check. When we opened the door and felt a rush of hot air, I almost fainted; and then I saw them - all the beautiful white flowers were black. Funeral black. An electrical storm during the night had knocked out the air conditioning system, and on that hot summer day, the flowers had wilted and died.
I panicked, knowing I didn't have time to drive back to our hometown, gather more flowers, and return in time for the wedding. Tim turned to me. "Edna, can you get more flowers? I'll throw away these dead ones and put fresh flowers in these arrangements."
I mumbled, "Sure," as he be-bopped down the hall to put on his cuff links. Alone in the large sanctuary, I looked up at the dark wooden beams in the arched ceiling. "Lord," I prayed, "please help me. I don't know anyone in this town. Help me find someone willing to give me flowers - in a hurry!"
I scurried out praying for four things: the blessing of white magnolias, courage to find them in an unfamiliar yard, safety from any dog that may bite my leg, and a nice person who would not get out a shotgun when I asked to cut his tree to shreds. As I left the church, I saw magnolia trees in the distance. I approached a house . . . no dog in sight. I knocked on the door and an older man answered. So far so good . . . no shotgun. When I stated my plea the man beamed, "I'd be happy to!" He climbed a stepladder and cut large boughs and handed them down to me.
Minutes later, as I lifted the last armload into my car trunk, I said, "Sir, you've made the mother of a bride happy today."
"No, Ma'am," he said. "You don't understand what's happening here."
"What?" I asked.
"You see, my wife of sixty-seven years died on Monday. On Tuesday I received friends at the funeral home, and on Wednesday . . He paused. I saw tears welling up in his eyes. "On Wednesday I buried her." He looked away. "On Thursday most of my out-of-town relatives went back home, and on Friday - yesterday - my children left.
I nodded.
"This morning," he continued, "I was sitting in my den crying out loud. I miss her so much. For the last sixteen years, as her health got worse, she needed me. But now nobody needs me. This morning I cried, 'Who needs an eighty-six-year-old wore-out man? Nobody! 'I began to cry louder. 'Nobody needs me!' About that time, you knocked, and said, "Sir, I need you."
I stood with my mouth open.
He asked, "Are you an angel? The way the light shone around your head into my dark living room . ."
I assured him I was no angel.
He smiled. "Do you know what I was thinking when I handed you those magnolias?"
"No."
"I decided I'm needed. My flowers are needed. Why, I might have a flower ministry! I could give them to everyone! Some caskets at the funeral home have no flowers. People need flowers at times like that and I have lots of them. They're all over the backyard. I can give them to hospitals, churches - all sorts of places. You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to serve the Lord until the day He calls me home!"
I drove back to the church, filled with wonder. On Patsy's wedding day, if anyone had asked me to encourage someone who was hurting, I would have said, "Forget it! It's my only daughter's wedding, for goodness' sake! There is no way I can minister to anyone today." But God found a way. Through dead flowers.

It was a good story, I guess.... lol
nothing great though :P
I am sure it is inspirational to some people.
But why do people like you never write a story that has a very sad ending, like in real life? A story in which the wedding is ruined because the bride is killed in a traffic accident? You see, that sort of thing actually happens. Sort of a horribly ironic evil miracle. Being tripped up on the home stretch, so to speak.
But for some reason, you never, ever write about those things to demonstrate what kind of god you worship.
Why is that?

Do you think this is a good present for my boyfriend?
So, I am having a horrible time coming up with gift ideas for my boyfriend. We are both super random, and love doing things like blowing bubbles, or playing hopscotch.. Just random stuff that never gets old :) Im 15, and he's 17. We will have been dating for 2 months by Christmas, but we've been best friends since March.
So, my question is, do you think these are good ideas? Or should I get him something else? Would you like these if your girlfriend got them for you?
Please keep in mind that most of this stuff is from Dollar Tree, or Walmart :) Thanks!
First, I'm going to get him a big basket of some sort (picnic basket?) to put all of this stuff in. Then, I have...
Silly String
a Slinky
Silly Putty
Glow-sticks
Plastic Bubbles (Already Bought)
Candy
Propeller Hat (Already Bought)
Peanut eraser (Already Bought :P)
Regular Bubbles
Paddle Ball
Ninja Band aids
Possibly a Mr. Potato Head
Possibly Bop-it ?
Magic top-hat :)
So, yeah. What do you think? Is that too much? Too little? It'll probably all cost about $30 together.
Thanks! He doesn't like video games at all... He surfs and plays banjo :P
And no gift cards. He hates shopping. And he has all the CDs he could ever want (library).
Thanks!Do you think this is a good present for my boyfriend?
Ninja Band aids
-Yeah, those are pretty epic(: %26lt;3 I want some!
Possibly Bop-it ?
- I love mine!
Yeahh, I think it's a great idea actually, it's super cute... (: And I'd wait on the silly string...
Like have a war, by you bottles then buy him one so you can have a fight(: So much fun... :D
you DO realize that this stuff is just going to end up sitting around in a corner of his room when you two break up..get him something he'll actually use or want..not a slinky. what is a seventeen year old going to do with a slinky in his free time..?Do you think this is a good present for my boyfriend?
You ask this at least twice daily. Please stop! If your boyfriend is into this kind of thing, then it's a good present. Honestly, I would never by my boyfriend anything like this unless he was 10 years old, but everyone's different.
You've asked this twice, yes it is a good present as long as everything means something.Do you think this is a good present for my boyfriend?
That seems great. The fact that you guys are super random is awesome. He should like it. It's cool that you're not getting him the typical stuff.
that sounds really cute, i think he'll like it
dang you're getting him alot of stuff.

What makes you fairly sure that its compatible? From the images of the motherboard, it seems you motherboard doesn't have any PCI 2.0 Slots. And by the information, depending on if it has integrated ATI pr Nvidia Graphics, it doesn't support Hybrid SLI or Crossfire(Hybrid is when you have integrated paired up with a dedicated card.)
If you wanted to use any of those Video Cards you'd have to change, your motherboard, possibly your ram( it doesn't tell me what type it is ), and power supply. The price for all of that will be well over $300. And those video cards that you chose, some of them you're paying too much for.

Caring for my bearded dragons, am I doing ok?
I bought 2 bearded dragons about 2 months ago, they have grown fast and are currently 12 inches long from head to tail end and weigh 100 grammes each. I have an exo terra tank which was the biggest the pet shop had and very expensive, it is 90cm wide x 45 depth x60cm height. I have used play sand as a substrate even though the pet shop gave me wood chip, I have in the tank a few logs, vine, a couple of rocks and fake plants, a medium water dish that the beardies sometimes sit in, and food dish.
I give them washed dandelion leaves/kale/other greens daily and black crickets (lots) daily.
I use a uva light that goes right across the tank, a heat mat covering half the tank and a basking light. I turn the basking light off at night and back on in the morning.
They seem very healthy and active but my question is am I doing things right?
I am worried I may be doing something wrong as lots of websites tell me different things such as don't keep them together, don't use sand etc etc.
Can anyone give me advice or tips, I love my dragons and really want them to be fit and healthy.
Also the last few days one dragon has been head bopping and one has been arm waving, although I can't tell for certain if they are male or female. One which I think is male, his beard has darkened and he has tried pinning the other by the back of it's neck, the other which i'm not sure about the sex, is a lot lighter in colour going a yellowish colour when warm. Please any advice welcome
Thanks in advance x xCaring for my bearded dragons, am I doing ok?
I have read your post several times now and all in all you are doing fine. The main problem is is that you have them together. Beardies don't need friends and only come together to mate. It sounds like you have a male and female by the actions of the black beard on him and him trying to breed with her, waving by her is she is submitting to him.
Play sand is ok after they are a year old but I would not be using it for under that although their size makes it sound to me that they might be around 6 months also with him wanting to mate. They are far too young to mate and are you ready for incubating eggs for 70 days as well as getting new tanks and light set ups for the babies and finding them homes. Plus it is not good on the health of the female at all. She should be around 15 months old and weight much more than you said. In my opinion you are asking for trouble. Just think about a 13 year old gal giving birth.
I have 5 and each is in their own tank. Three are in 55 gallon and the other 2 are in 75 gallon tanks. They need much more floor room than climbing areas.
They need their own basking areas and hides and I don't think you can do that in the size that you have.
Are them temps 100-110 degrees in that area Seriously I would get them separated now if its not too late already. Even if she has mated with him she still needs her own tank and to be away from him as he will continue to mate with her and thus you have a big stress factor there.
If I can ever help, just email me, its open
As far as your feeding goes it sounds good. Young dragons need to have as many crickets as they can eat twice a day for a 10-15 minute time frame. Please don't cut them back to just a few a day. The first year they need 80% protein to 20% salad mix and after a year that reverses to the oppositeCaring for my bearded dragons, am I doing ok?
you are doing fine. i have a male beardie who is 3 years old now. although you may be feeding them a little too many crickets... feed them only about 4 (2 for each) and go to every other day. especially as their beards start to appear. and do not worry, the head bopping and such is a meathod of communication between the two. mating actions will not begin until they are fully mature. (1 year old)
best of luckCaring for my bearded dragons, am I doing ok?
Everything seems fine except the sand, kale and the heat mat. The sand could lead to impaction but if you still want to use it just make sure to feed them in a seperate container. Kale is a once in a while green as it can bind there calcium to where they can't digest it, you should be offering them collard, mustard or turnip greens instead of the kale. The heat mat is ok I guess as long as your temps are right but you don't really need it. As far as the protein "bugs" go you are doing great make sure to feed them as many as they will eat in 15 minutes 2-3 times a day also make sure that there dusted with calcium, once there 18 months you can go to every other day and calcium like twice a week. And the last thing would be to seperate them soon, there becoming territorial over eachother which is why the male is head bobbing and the female arm waving and you definitely don't want them mating if there from the same clutch and at there size/age either.
I HAVE 5 BEARDED DRAGONS YOU SEEM TO BE DOING THINGS RIGHT I WOULD CHANGE THE SAND BECAUSE IF THEY GO FOR A CRICKET OR WORM THEY WILL GULP THE SAND WHICH IS NOT GOOD I THINK U HAVE A MALE AND FEMALE AS 2 MALES WILL FIGHT HOPE THIS IS GOOD ADVICE DONT U KNOW TO GIVE THEM VITAMINS ON THE CRICKETS

Do you Respect The Talking Stick? Poets?
Our tongues need to be re-treaded, like those thread-bare tires you see on clunkers parked at Walmart. From Moment One, we've been in three modes: Talking, Eating and Asleep. For four and a half minutes, all of the world's problems were solved - although no World Leaders were within earshot to steal our solutions and/or take all the credit.
FRANCINE, that eight-legged, sexy, irresistable siren was re-designed, to the Power of Three, to be even more sexy and more irresistable. Nancy's book will be going into production within a matter of hours. Francine, if our plans fall into place, will be famous and a must-have fashion statement, so watch for her trade-marked little arachnid self on bookbags, purses and articles of clothing coming to a shop near you! (And you thought we only did Poetry! Hah!)
After several days of continuous, simultaneous talking, Lizzy took center stage and demanded that only one person at a time talk while the other two listened. The solution was to employ the Talking Stick...which was a genuine stick large enough to be used as a club - if necessary. The dogs, of
course, thought our stick was the world's Only Stick and were behooved to chew it into small, more manageable pieces. Turns out the Talking Pencil was nearly as effective.
We also determined that the three of us have an uncanny resemblence, personality-wise, to The Golden Girls; Liz is Dorothy, Nance is Blanche and I am the most like Rose. (Surprise, surprise!)
My stomach is sore from laughing - not ordinary laughing though; those two have me bent double guffawing in a most unladylike manner until the tears are streaming.
Meanwhile, I got The Gabster fed a breakfast of bacon, dippy eggs %26amp; toast %26amp; shipped her off to school. (And she is prepared for today's test, which will include identifying all 50 of the United States. (I am sending a copy of the same test to The White House just to see if that guy in the Oval Office can do as well as a Fourth Grader. It's going to be a trick test for Mr. 0, since I'm leaving out the seven of the 57 states he thinks we have. tee hee)
Lizzy is snoring delicately on the sofa behind me while I have yet to hear a peep from Nancy, enscounced as she is in a mountain of comforters in Gabster's canopy bed. Yep, Rose is awake %26amp; has a pot of coffee ready for her girls. We are planning to do whatever pops into our heads today, and that could mean anything from checking out the flea markets to having a pedicure party. I have
no idea what will be on our agenda today, but I know it's gonna be a blast.
By the way, last night, Nancy blurted out a confession that she is Yahoo's most infamous critic...The Genunie Mighty, himself. Then Liz grabbed the Talking Pencil and bopped her on the head. Nance just smiled sweetly, looked off into the distance and piped up, "Let's faint our paces!"
Liz made a choking, gurgling sound and re-bopped Nance with the pencil (eraser end). That's when Nance threw a hissy %26amp; poured forth with a stream of profanities, "Skirts! Blouses! Slacks! Accessories! Pants!" And that's when I started wondering for real. I plan on keeping a closer eye on that tiny little gal.
As a favor, Yappers, please don't make me laugh today, my stomach muscles are killing me.Do you Respect The Talking Stick? Poets?

Abstruse = troll refuse? I knew there was a reason I liked that gal.
When I was 8 I had a bunch of "old ladies" on my paper route and some of them were as old as FORTY! In the eighties, Golden Girls was about showing that Fifty year old women still had a little life in them. Today if they made that show either the cast would have to be eighty or they would rename the show "Facts of Life".
I am not much of a fan of the talking stick as it interferes with my "talking schtick" but then I spend most of my time alone anyhow so I can dominate the conversation.
Sounds like the Three Adepts have got the world by the scrawnies. Maybe you can ask Jessie Jackson for Obama's so you can have bookends to go with the talking stick, because I have been wondering since election day what happened to them and I think you might make better use of them.
Think of it like you have won the Golden Globes. Honest to gosh my spelling corrector just tried to turn the word "globes" as "gonads". ELMAOLM-SROOTCROTFL!!!!!!!!
(if you figure that one out you get a Nobel Prize in Phrenology.

The material on Sharpay's dress?
In High School Musical (the first one), the blue dress that Sharpay wears in Bop to the Top (http://www.familydisco.com/images/hsm2.j鈥?/a> does anyone have any idea what the fabric the skirt's made of is called? I've seen it before in fabric shops but I don't really know the name. Thanks for your help. The material on Sharpay's dress?
well i haven't felt it so i dont know for sure but is probably chiffon on the bottom and some sort of stretchy fabric on the top.

I think this about covers it?
Does it seem like every time you try and post a question or
comment to a dog list, you get yourself into trouble? If so, then
this list is for you. If you religiously follow all of the rules
on this Official DON'T list, you'll never get in trouble again.
The Official Dog Enthusiast's DON'T List
DON'T let your dog sleep in your bed. It will cause aggression
problems down the road.
DON'T make your dog sleep in a crate. Crate is just another word
for small cage.
DON'T let your dog sleep outside at night. If God had wanted dogs
to sleep outside, he would have covered their body with hair to
keep them warm.
DON'T let your dog sleep. You should be playing with him all the
time.
DON'T keep more than two dogs. Each individual dog requires
considerable time and energy, and it is impossible for a
responsible dog owner to spend quality time with more than two dogs.
DON'T keep less than five dogs. Dogs are pack animals, and five
dogs is the minimum number for proper socialization.
DON'T feed your dog kibble. Kibble is the invention of evil
capitalists who want your money, and kibble has no nutritional
value whatsoever. You might as well feed your dog sawdust.
DON'T cook your dog's meat or chicken. Cooking destroys all the
nutrients.
DON'T feed your dog raw meat or raw chicken. Raw food contains
salmonella, e-coli, and other harmful bacteria.
DON'T let your dog drink out of a plastic bowl. It will turn his
nose pink.
DON'T post messages to a dog list. You will surely get bopped on
the head for thinking that someone else cares about your silly
little opinions.
DON'T poke your eye with a sharp stick. It has nothing to do with
dogs, but it's a good rule nonetheless.
DON'T microchip your dog. A nearby cell phone can cause a
microchipped dog to explode, or so says the lady running the
tattoo booth.
DON'T tattoo your dog on the ear. A dog thief will cut off the
tattooed ear.
DON'T tattoo your dog on the thigh. He'll be a tripod before you
can say Ginsu.
DON'T keep a collar on your dog when unattended. He could get
caught on something and choke.
DON'T leave your dog unattended without a collar. He could run
away without any identification.
DON'T transport your dog in a plastic crate. Plastic crates don't
allow sufficient air flow.
DON'T transport your dog in a wire crate. In a car accident, a
wire crate transforms into a doggie skewer. On days you plan to
have a car accident, it is acceptable to use a plastic crate.
DON'T let your dog drive. It's against the law in many states.
DON'T enter your dog in conformation. It's b-o-r-i-n-g for the dog.
DON'T enter your dog in obedience. It's B-o-r-i-n-g with a
capital"B."
DON'T enter your dog in agility. The jumps will injure his joints.
DON'T send your dog out with a handler. Only a psychopath would
send their beloved pet with a complete stranger.
DON'T handle your dog yourself. You've got a great dog, and he
deserves a much better handler than you will ever be.
DON'T get a purebred dog. Too much inbreeding has produced dogs
with temperament and health problems.
DON'T get a mutt. You don't know anything about their pedigree.
In fact, if you're thinking about getting a dog, get a cat instead.
DON'T don't. That's right, you heard me, just don't!
DON'T leave your dog's dewclaws intact. He will rip one off
jumping a log or something, which is quite painful.
DON'T remove your dog's dewclaws. Dewclaws are acupuncture points
that are needed for proper functioning of the kidneys.
AND, the #1 DON'T .....
DON'T trim your dog's whiskers. Dogs use their whiskers to
determine the size of their head, which is important when they
are out shopping for a new hat.|||I think you forgot one:
DON'T make a joke poking fun at the obsessive and often contradictory nature of 'giving dog advice' lest someone take it seriously and be offended!

Guess peeps (from the thumbs down up there) can not laugh at themselves hu?? Some peeps take themselves way to seriouse...
Thanks for the laugh!!|||that list makes no sense! it contra ***** itself! dont have more than 2, but dont have less than 5?? i let my dog sleep in my bed shes fine. and i also have more than 2. that list is for crazy people that probably have robot dogs.|||How about don't create false generalizations out of answers offered to specific people's questions and try to make it seem like nobody knows what they're talking about?

DON'T make a joke poking fun at the obsessive and often contradictory nature of 'giving dog advice' lest someone take it seriously and be offended!
;)|||Now,now.....you KNOW that the dimwits who post here are so UTTERLY BRAINLESS that they'll take this SERIOUSLY!!!
The "gospel" according to Yahoo dawgs!
LMFAO!|||This is good.
I agree!|||I don't know where you got this list from, but it is to funny!!!
Yep...it covers everything!!! LOL!|||Best question I've ever seen on here!!!!
Jenise B's answer almost as funny!!|||I don't know you but you've mad me giggle within 5 minutes of waking up. Your my hero. rotflmao!!!!!|||Wheeeee....that was fun!
Perfect for a Monday morning!
Thanks Miriam!|||You really need to take it down a notch. People get so riled up and the freaky people will jump down your throat for no reason..... take a chill pill!|||DON'T even think this about covers it!|||Wow, you have quite a bit of time on your hands, huh?|||LOL Wow think maybe I should get out of the owning of many dogs? and get out of having dogs period according to that list lol!

How much do u think.......?
I'm selling my old sega genuises i got when i was 5 and I have the orignal box it came in and orignal demo game plus a pac man game. Its in mint condition just needs a little dusting but it's still fully functional. How much do u think i could possiblely get for it? I know its an old out dated system but you know game shops buy old stuff just curious. Also i have a bop it and bop it extreme i want to sell how much do u think i can get for it? The bop it's are also in great condition just need a battery and a little dusting. How much do u think.......?
I really wouldn't say more than $30 for the Sega, and the bop its for like $15.. they're really not worth much like that.
I've had almost the same situation, with my dad's Atari. It still worked, ok condition, but it wasn't the original model they were looking for. It would have been worth $2000 if it was the original, but now we're just keeping it.
Hopefully yours turns out better than what happened to me.How much do u think.......?
i doubt you could get more than 25$ for all the things you listed....sorry, but video games just get outdated and go out of style, they dont really apppreciate in value. How much do u think.......?
Unfortunately, old games and systems come extremely cheap, unless they were special limited edition things D:
But if you saved them for a couple decades, they would probably rise in value =w= Or not. No hurt saving them anyway.
i would say about 拢15 maximum, if that...

Why has my Xbox picture has gone all liney?
I got Kinect in November, a week or so later when playing BOps the screen went all liney. When I turned the console off and back on I got the error 74 (I think). I was 20 days out of the 3 yr warranty, so I got it fixed by a local shop who fix anything. Worked great after that.
Yesterday playing BOps I got the lines again. Turned it off and left it. Today I went to play Dance Central, started off fine then the camera stopped being able to see me, and the small screen that shows your white shape was all liney, the graphics also didn't look so bright. Put BOps in to see what that was like and was still liney once you get to the main menu.
No error code this time so what's wrong? Why has my Xbox picture has gone all liney?
First I'd find out what the shop previously fixed. That might help troubleshoot this time around.
That said though, E74 is trouble with a big "T". It could be the scaler chip issue which is located by the video input but it could also be a cable issue. If you haven't tried a different video cable, make sure you do so.
This error can also be related directly to the GPU and can be a result of the heat problems that the earlier 360s had. This was covered under the 3-year warranty but, of course, your're out of luck on that one. For this, you could try the X-clamp fix but that would be a shot in the dark.
Personally, I wouldn't invest any more money into it. Though it will pain your wallet, I would buy one of the new Xbox 360 Slims. Why has my Xbox picture has gone all liney?
Groan. E74 is a problem. My screen turned green rather than liney. I cycled mine like you did and the graphics were no longer green but, some pixels were fouled. Not long after, I got permanent E74.
I tried some of the online fixes and they were only temporary. From what I've read, E74 is about the worst error because it's random and difficult to fix.
If it's under warranty, send it in. Otherwise, I think it's parts.
After addition:
If it was just two months ago, your fix might be warranted.

I just wrote this poem-what do you think? Warning, it's extremely long, also I want your interpretation thanks?
I dreamt of you, straddling another man,
could there be some truth that rings true to the tale? Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps some
truth indeed rings true,
not in fear of your adultry-that I know is a tandem
off falsified suspicions
upended and dug up by mind tankers, like the
plunging raping Russian oil tankers
that indulge in consummation with mother Earth's silent awaiting artic privies.
I beseech you, do not turn from me in disgust,
it it only my unhappy current existence on
this fair planet,
I love too much, and so I hurt others too often,
in my jealosy I have indulged in
substance abuse,
with the likes of junkies and madmen,
knowing full well you were indulging in the same.
I can recall the time-(it was winter time, I know
because the leaves off the trees'
skeletal arms were of many hues and brittle-
and crumbled to my even feathery touch)-
alas, the time I spent was not in admiring
the artistery of the death cycle of trees,
but was perched in the passenger's seat
of a parked car in a back lot at
lunch hour. My adolescent mind-(I was a
high school sweetheart, woe)-believed
that DiNitrogen Monoxide, or N20, could
alleviate me from my sins, and O!-they did!
And how I did attone in that moment, believing
at the time that the man who was my
friend and benefactor, was in fact my confessional. Oh, how I felt ten thousand armies
strong. Oh, how I felt the sky, touching it
and feeling it's powdery cloud tips, and touching my lips to its powder to taste its acid rain and
mineral water, parched as I was from
destruction to soul and mind,
oh, how I hallucinated miracles and healed the
masses with my mind, (all in my mind),
oh, how I consumed greasy American waste,
and declared it a feast,
knowing full well that my body was decomposing,
and doing so accelerating the process-I sensed
life approaching swiftly, in
the form of heart failure-reader this is indeed proven
true,
having skipped class on another winter day,
and drank so much black coffee straight
that I was a caffinated wreck upon coming
back to class, gasping wretchedly as I
stormed through symphonies and Bach.
My dear love, I love you greatly, as you may see.
My life has been illuminated by lovers and
mental contemplation,
which I had since achieved only once, when
a man slipped me a thin pasty square and
confided in me that it was lysergic acid-
I so took it, and for the following hours
afterward, sat on my desk in English Composition so that I may watch the newsreel
film of Hamlet-or Macbeth-I forget, they
were both consumed by madness. Shakespeare
is mad, I tell you true.
Needless to say I found life to be delicate
and connected with the heavens,
and wrote prose of madcap jesters
and the lady in white and her nunnery.
I recall also riding backseat to the intellectual
minds of my time,
who smoked and drank and contemplated tone
and chordal theory,
and analyzed the complexity of jazz while the
rest of my generation
dreamt and groped to the throbbing intensity
of technological neon sh*t,
and laughed, glowing and in the morning haze
I would perceive menthol haloes
surrounding their proud heads,
and driving into the head town of Davis,
bopping into record shops, leafing through
records for the next Sonny Rollins-alas, all
for naught.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps I could have done more.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps I could have attended church more.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps I could have read
Rimbaud and understood.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps I could have had less lovers, and loved soley.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps I could have payed less attention to my past failures.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps life is a beautiful painting painted in mad houses.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps the life in my mind
should be my current.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps it is time to cut through all the bullsh*t.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps the Second Coming isis at Hand, in the form of gasping lovers.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps I am leaving you with more said, and less to understand.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps I am ashamed of my mind, society made me this way.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps my holy laughter is for the healing of the world.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps life is ment to be spent in innocence, and in so doing,
Adam and Eve have left us short.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps Jesus I should have eaten Your Forbidden Fruit,
and been ashamed of my naked form.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps victory is at hand, in the form of youth crisscrossing America.
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.
Perhaps, perhaps it is time we ceased leaving everything to chance.
Love, I am writing of you.
I just wrote this poem-what do you think? Warning, it's extremely long, also I want your interpretation thanks?
Yes, it is very long, but because of the form, makes it much easier to read. An interpretation? Have you not spelled it out? Your life beginning at present, then taking us through time to present again. What if things were different. If they were, then what wold happen to those life experiences which make you who you are today. Life is art. You like jazz. Mentioned Coltrane last, and Rollins now.
Of course we never know if the poet is writing of themselves or simply writing a thought provoking poem.I just wrote this poem-what do you think? Warning, it's extremely long, also I want your interpretation thanks?

Music, music everywhere...are we listening to too much music?
Go into a shop, pub, bar cafe, garage, home. On the bus, train plane walking done the street, coming out of peoples car windows. How much are we actually listening to as apposed to just hearing.
I have over 300 cds, 500 albums on my itunes and about 300 plus vinyl albums and 100 plus 12" and 7" single and a few tape cassettes yet I can count on the palm of one hand the amount of times during a week I listen to any music. To me its like reading a book you give it your attention. True I listen to a lot of jazz, mostly be bop which is crap as back ground music if your not listening your lost in 2 minutes.Music, music everywhere...are we listening to too much music?
if music is becoming noise and it is affecting your life like this you maybe stressed.
Do you live in a big city?
Are you happy?
I would advise learning to meditate, visiting the country side regularly, take a bath, sing!, cuddle your partner, visit a floatation tank, paint, have a massage, laugh, see a therapist or anything that makes you feel centred.
hope this helps.
music is life, buddyMusic, music everywhere...are we listening to too much music?
well, where would we be without music?
You can never have enough music. Given the choice of music or TV, I know what I would choose!
As well as my CD etc collection, add own keyboard, guitars and other instruments and you get the geist.Music, music everywhere...are we listening to too much music?
music is a part of life!
Music is my feeding tube! I believe we need better music though, we need to bring back Nu Metal.
uhm, i dont understand the phrase "are we listening to too much music?" could you speak english please, because that seems to translate into "im a terrible person". music just backgrounds life.

PLEASE HELP ME DUDE!?
okay, i've heard this song like a million times on The N i think about 4 or 5 years ago? It's a pop-y kind of bee-bop song and has a horn section in the background. It's a modern song, not a re-make. i believe there was a line that said something about "as i was walking on the sidewalk". but in the chorus/riff, she literally just says "do do do do, do do do, do do do do do do do." ha. i know it's kind of vague, but i need to find this! i remember she was running through a park in the video... i know she was sitting at a coffee shop at one point. she may of had dark curly hair?PLEASE HELP ME DUDE!?
Haha this is a pure wild guess but it would never be that chick Ann Lee the song was called Two Times? Just remember she kept going do do do do do do in the video

Buying new hard drive....suggestions?
So I've got about 400GB on my comp now, and it's almost all filled up.
So it's about time I buy a 1TB, as this will be easily enough for the next year or two, until SSD prices come down.
My question is, what brands can you recommend? I have two WD right now, and they've worked great.
I shop off of newegg all the time, and when I read the reviews. I can't ever decide because there are always good reviews and bad, so I don't know which to go with.
btw I'm looking here

Any suggestions from your experience? Cheers!!Buying new hard drive....suggestions?
I would go with a samsung spinpoint f3 drive. They are currently one of the fastest drives available an are faster around 15% faster then caviar blacks from western digital.
This is coming from someone who has bought atleast 25+ WD drives. I recently started using samsung drives. They are just as reliable as WD alsoBuying new hard drive....suggestions?
I recommend getting WD Caviar Black. i found this in newegg.com
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533Buying new hard drive....suggestions?
well with hard drives the larger size you have and larger rpm the more chance for failure alot of bad reviews on newegg is DOA's because UPS doesnt take care of electronics or even ask for signatures may i add (grah!) so i suggest if you can staying less than or equal to 1tb whats your price range because that can effect it too. does it matter how fast it is? does hdd cache run ranks to you? i have purchase this hard drive right here and i have 2 of them and have had them so far for about 2 months and they run exceedingly well except they are a bit on the noisy side (the loudest thing in my machine) but i am alright with this because they are 1tb each and are 7200 rpm (which is the fastest you can get for normal human being prices usually) they have a 16mb cache and are by hitachi which i have in 3 laptops at home and multiple at work and have not failed me and i run a lot of hdd intense programs my family pcs have had Western digitals in them and have never failed but i bought te 2tb caviar green and it failed in a week but newegg gave me full refund (this is what i meant by failure) but these are the drives i currently have and i like them alot.

I recommend getting WD Caviar Black. i found this in newegg.com

well with hard drives the larger size you have and larger rpm the more chance for failure alot of bad reviews on newegg is DOA's because UPS doesnt take care of electronics or even ask for signatures may i add (grah!) so i suggest if you can staying less than or equal to 1tb whats your price range because that can effect it too. does it matter how fast it is? does hdd cache run ranks to you? i have purchase this hard drive right here and i have 2 of them and have had them so far for about 2 months and they run exceedingly well except they are a bit on the noisy side (the loudest thing in my machine) but i am alright with this because they are 1tb each and are 7200 rpm (which is the fastest you can get for normal human being prices usually) they have a 16mb cache and are by hitachi which i have in 3 laptops at home and multiple at work and have not failed me and i run a lot of hdd intense programs my family pcs have had Western digitals in them and have never failed but i bought te 2tb caviar green and it failed in a week but newegg gave me full refund (this is what i meant by failure) but these are the drives i currently have and i like them alot.

Rank my type 2 deck for MTG?
I just picked the game back up and started playing at my local shop. I went through my cards and made a type 2 deck out of my older sets. What do you think of it?
4 hypnotic specter
4 black knight
2 grave digger
4 Llanowar elf
3 BoP
2 elvish piper
1 giant spider
4 duress
2 unholy strength
2 diabolic tutor (someone at the store gave me 2 of these.)
2 mind rot
2 overrun
4 fog
4 giant growth
10 swamps
10 forestsRank my type 2 deck for MTG?
its just a bunch of random cards thrown together.Rank my type 2 deck for MTG?
Llanowar and BoP in a deck that only has 2 copies of one card with a cost over 4? That'll be a lot of wasted mana.
Giant Spider is pretty much trash compared to Deadly Recluse
What exactly are you planning on needing desperately for those Diabolic Tutors to be of any use?
No focus.Rank my type 2 deck for MTG?
not bad, but you may want to invest in some newer cards, maybe make a new deck, like allys

Song Lyrics??????
Hi, well, recently i was watching tv and a commercial for Kidz Bop 13 came on.
And by boredom i noticed that there were a few songs that may not be suitible for children. Songs such as Party Like a Rockstar by Shop Boyz and The Great Escape by Boys lIke Girls.
Now as much as I LOVE boys like girls and the great escape, we all know that there are those beginning lyrics stating lets get drunk and ride around. and countless more in party like a rockstar. and in pinks 'who knew' throughout the entire chorus she says she'd stand u and punch them out.
so i cant help but wonder, what EXACTLLY are 'they' trying to enforce upon our youth?
Do they edit these songs?
I already investigated it and found that on previous albums they had songs such as "girlfriend' by avril lavigne and 'glamorous' by fergie and ludacris. Where in both songs they curse repeatadley.
so can someone please help me out here? id like to know what the media is trying to teach our children. No haters, just answersSong Lyrics??????
yes, they do edit the songs. lyrics are changed when they are inappropriate, and sometimes whole verses are left out. my daughters have only one, but I have no problem with most of the lyrics on it. I'm more just getting tired of hearing the same cd all the time! A few times they have even told me that the radio version is wrong, because it says bad words.Song Lyrics??????
all the songs u mentioned have clean versions with no cursing at all.Song Lyrics??????
They usually change all the words to make them unoffensive or violent, but they're probably still not the best songs for children.
They censor the swear words out of the songs, but I don't see how the kids couldn't get what the artists were putting across. I like most of the songs that are put onto Kidz Bop. However I absolutely hate how Kidz Bop ruins songs by "cleaning them up" and then making kids sing them.

Where are some of the strangest places you've heard or listened to your favourite music?
i'm leaving this wide open... could be on top of a mountain, underwater in the gulf of mexico, in a church, whilst doing a bungee jump, getting married... wherever/whatever...
some examples;
i was walking past some fancy exclusive clothes shop once and they started blasting out 'thieves' by ministry... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dG_-rq1ON鈥?/a> ... i couldn't believe it so i went in and had a little bop in the corner ha ha! made my day...
another time i was in a nightclub halfway up a mountain in Colombia at 6am watching the sun rise over bogota and the last song they played was 'atmosphere' by joy division... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSh7444zG鈥?/a> ... now being a Mancunian a long way from home, a bit 'merry' and that being one of the only songs i know and love by joy division... it nearly brought a tear to my eye! ;)
any similar unexpected/expected experiences?
post a youtube clip to embellish if you can!Where are some of the strangest places you've heard or listened to your favourite music?
I once heard the intro to pink floyds shine on you crazy diamond on the weather channel during the local on the 8's.I thought that was pretty cool.

In my case, it's mostly in supermarkets where I'll hear unexpected songs %26amp; bands.
But I was once in a Kmart %26amp; "Magic Power" by Triumph came on the pa!

Haha, I was in class and all of a sudden my teacher's cell phone rang with the song Tears Dont Fall by Bullet for my Valentine!?
It was the funniest thing because she is the strictest teacher on cell phones being put away and on silent or vibrate.
It was great...
I almost got into a car crash when I was listening to master of puppets by metallica. I'm not going to post videos because I'd have like 8 diffrent videos. Where are some of the strangest places you've heard or listened to your favourite music?
Much like the second answerer, it thought it was funny (and ironic) because right in the middle of exams my teacher's cell phone rang with Rider's on the Storm.
sitting at church, during the family reunion, i also listened to dillenger escape plan while having sex with my girlfriend. that was probably the most awkward moment
I listened to my Ipod on Enchanted Rock before....
http://www.americansouthwest.net/texas/e鈥?/a>
I was going on a hike with some friends, and I reached the top of the mountain first so I listened to some heavy metal.
While I was in Math class, I turned on my iPod and put on Angel Of Death by Slayer.

What song can I use in a talent show?? must be under 4 minutes.?
I can dance and am very very good at gymnastics. I want a song I can perform to but also act out. Like the first HSM song Bop to the Top. I could act out the lines in between me dancing and tumbling. I like fast music. I was think of splish splash I was taking a bath. Any better ideas??? Im 12 years old. This talent show is for a county fair which I came in 2nd the past two years. They say a gymnast/dance will never win. Well this is the year! The crowd is mostly older folks (parents and grandparents) Also, please choose songs I can get easily on cd. I cant shop in big towns.thanks BTW. I am not singing. Just dancing and tumbling andd maybe acting it out with hand gestures and facial expressions. What song can I use in a talent show?? must be under 4 minutes.?
How about "Gimme Some Lovin' " by the Spencer Davis Group? Its under 3 minutes actually...
Then there's a few more I could recommend:
"I Love Rock And Roll" - Joan Jett
"Oh Pretty Woman" - Roy Orbison / Van Halen / Etc.
"Axel F" - Harold F... something (tho its kinda cliched)
Actually I have a huge list of songs that's under 4 minutes... but not sure if you are looking for country or rock, 70s, 80s, 90s or now... narrow it down and let me know, then I can give you a better list. What song can I use in a talent show?? must be under 4 minutes.?
erm beyonce halo is a good song
but if your wanting faster songs try basshunters songs e.g now your gone, all i ever wanted, angel in the night etc .also flow rida - low is good aswell :)What song can I use in a talent show?? must be under 4 minutes.?
I agree with you choice of splish splash or like the other guy said Low, we are using that one in my hip hop dance class. Mercy by Duffy might be another one to look into.

Celebs wearing Hollister, Am. Eagle, Abercrombie..etc(funny)?
I bought two magazines the other day. Bop and Popstar. I saw a picture of Jason Dolley and a picture of Mitchel Musso wearing Hollister. Then I saw a picture of Josh Hutcherson wearing American Eagle. I just think it is so cool that rich famous stars like them would wear stuff that's not from a really famous desinger or something. Anyone else think its a lil funny? I mean yeah its cool cause I'm like yeah I shop at the same place as celebs...lol It's just pretty sweet that they wanna be like everyone else鈾?/div>
well.. they obviously dont care about spending money on clothes...
which brings me to ask, what do you care what they are wearing?
well they are normal people what do u want them 2 be wearing ? a diamond encrusted shirtCelebs wearing Hollister, Am. Eagle, Abercrombie..etc(funny)?
who are those people?
Yeah, it's cool. I don't really like any of those stores, but the fact that they shop at the same places as other like, not famous people is cool. P.S.- Josh Hutcherson and Jason Dolley are cute... just thought I'd tell you all lolCelebs wearing Hollister, Am. Eagle, Abercrombie..etc(funny)?
yeah i think it's a little funny. jason earls even wore a hollister shirt on hannah montana. I shop there now, but i think if i were a celebrity, i would wear more crazy clothes that i would be afraid to wear now. Like zebra print pants, and those clear converses with crazy socks. id wanna make a fashion statement.
Well first off its not like the stores you mentioned are bottom line. They are really nice stores and there cloths don't come cheap. But yeah it is kind of cool I guess that they are wearing the same things as us. However just cause they are famous dosen't make them abnormal
I don't even shop at those stupid stores!!!
yeah that is funny...like all i wear is name brand stuff...but the jonas brothers dont wear hollister, they said that they know people who wear it and their friends do, but they would never wear it...i kinda wonder why.......
yea i think its funny and COOL!
Well they are teenagers just like every other kid who shops at those stores....
I think it's cool...it shows that they are really normal people who enjoy wearing normal clothes
I think it's pretty cool! They are regular people who's talent was discovered! I think it shows that yes, they can buy designer brands, but they still want to be the person they were before they were famous. That's awesome!
i think its cool that they wear the same stuff too! but i bet eventually they will get their own style and start wearing more expensive stuff :(
what was jb wearing?!!
well.. they are just NORMAL pple... theyre just known for doing what they LOVE...=]]
so its just like seeing a normal prson... but i get what ur saying... if had that muchh moneyy... i'd bein goin all dior.. LLOLZ... but if i was a celeb i'd still shop there.. coz theyre clothess r cutee!!!!!!!!!!!!
I see what you mean but why should it really be different in the big scheme of things? they are just people. if I was a celebrity I would still wear AEagle
ok, none of those people are famous... and celebrities wear everything. from anyone
oh my god, like totally like crazy like wow no way , are you like kidding me?

its ok to wear one thing at a time and make it your own.

What type of school would I have to go to if I wanted to be a Magazine Editor?
Well, first off I'm 14, and ever since I got photo-shop, I've been tinkering around with it. I even made an exact duplicate of Bop, 17, and Time magazine covers. I've decided that's what I want to do with my life. I've been doing it for about four to five years. I know I want to go to college in Chicago. So websites of that College would also help me out. But I also need to know what type of courses I'll need to be taking. My guidance counselor said that I have a very promising career in it. I'm in 8th grade now and she advises me to look into it now so I can get a bigger headstart. She said that's what most colleges look for. What type of school would I have to go to if I wanted to be a Magazine Editor?
In my opinion, it would be best for you to go into graphic design which could lead to a career as a magazine editor. I just did some research and i think your best bet would be columbia college. Its an arts and media college. You need to keep your grades up to around a 3.0 GPA. Also start looking into making a portfolio of your work. Try to get onto a school paper, photography group, school magazine.. those sorts of things. Itll cost you about 18,000 a year. so you should probably get a part time job
I hope I didnt bum you out, i wasnt trying to
hope this helps go to

How do you tell your smaller sister she needs anger management?
So we were shopping in target and one of the employees said to her "sir you dropped your razor" and then she turned around and he saw her and was like "oops i mean mam" She was so irate at his comment she made a scene that got us escorted out of my favorite store. I mean its so easy to think that buying a 'man Gillette razor" and her with no junk in her trunk could be misrepresented as a male. But my dear sibling was raging with hormones at the fact that "mam" to her meant that she looks older then me. I really disagree considering she looks like a teeny bop but then I did tell her her lack of a chest merely confused the poor worker. How do I remedy the situation so they might take my mug off their do not shop here wall? I really love how cheap some of there cleaning supplies are.How do you tell your smaller sister she needs anger management?
Happiness is an attitude to life that you must always keep in mind. It is much more than an emotion or feeling. To be truly happy, it is very easy; just follow these steps
Remember that nothing they can say should hurt you. You decide if you want to be hurt.
You are the owner of your life. You should not depend on anyone emotionally.
Remember that life is simple, but we humans make it complicated.
It is not about having the best home, or the latest phone model, it's about being happy with yourself.
Do what you please, but without hurting others.
Start by enjoying the most trivial pleasures, like a delicious snack or a good movie
Let us fight for a better life without feeling self-defeated.
I mean the real issue here is inexpensive cleaning supplies. I'm not sure if you have a Big Lots close to you...they have very good household cleaners at decent prices. Believe it or not, Home Depot has the ZEP line of really , really good cleaners.
But back to your sister, she is just mad that you got double the amount of breasts, and your buttocks are tight enough to bounce ping pong balls off of. Let her shop on her own.How do you tell your smaller sister she needs anger management?
Well, if she is out of line, then you should speak up calmly and firmly the next she is out of line. "Excuse me Jonah, sister, you do not talk to that man that way, he made a mistake. Now we can continue to shop or the next time im coming alone."
Grab her by the neck and yell at her that she needs anger management. Then, slam the door and jump in your car. Sqeal you tires and speed off.How do you tell your smaller sister she needs anger management?
The phone is how me and Jesus discuss the government.
I'd just explain the same way you explained here. As in "the reason so and so happened was because..." and it's better than "calm down, he just called you a guy.." It also depends on how old your sister is and assuming by the way you decribed her she sounds like a kid. It's most likely a phase, but kids listen too, so just talk to her like you would a friend, not a kid sister.
Edited: Yeah...then that's weird xD Still talk to this 'over the drinking age' sister of yours, maybe it was just a bad day, but if it's always like that then yeah make her listen. Be the better person you know =]
