Clothes in LA?

I am going to L.A. with my two best friends. We all live in Minnesota, and none of us has ever been to California. What hair/makeup/clothes should we wear on the plane, when we're shopping, on the beach, etc...?

I love shopping at Bop, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Ann Taylor LOFT, J.Crew, Abercrombie %26amp; Fitch, etc. I DO NOT like Hollister. It would be great if you could also make me outfits.

You can never go wrong in LA with jeans, a t-shirt, and flip flops. Premium denim is best - but Levis are cool too. Never with tapered legs. Straight leg or boot cut are favored - and hemmed on the longer side. The t-shirt is best fitted, but not tight (styled for women - not a boxy guys shirt), the flipflops shouldn't draw too much attention to themselves. A nice pair of big hoop earrings always look cool. That will take you through your days - and on the plane. Bring some strappy heels and a cute babydoll top to wear out at night ( with your premium denim and your big hoops)). Fresh pedicure is a must. Women in LA generally wear their fingernails short and wear very little makeup during the day.

A natural look is favored.
