Where would I be able to find a sailboat swing keel replacement? Mine is beyond repair.?

I am looking for a swing keel for a Catalina 25 and cannot seem to find one for sale anywhere? Can someone please help me out. ThanksWhere would I be able to find a sailboat swing keel replacement? Mine is beyond repair.?

The most common way to repair any type of keel is to rework it. If you have little or no experience with fiberglass then you'll need to have the work done by a pro.



If the keel ballast is still intact it can be reused. Ballast in some keels may be made of lead or steel shot and or slabs instead of one solid piece. I believe the Catalina 250 uses a solid piece of steel so you should be fine reusing it. If the steel is severely wasted then it will need to be replaced as well.



If you want to make sure your keel lasts a lifetime and funding is not too tight you should consider having it rebuilt with epoxy resin as opposed to polyester resin. The exopy is 10x stronger and will never absorb water. You cannot gel coat epoxy but since the keel should be coated with an anti-fouling pain this is of no concern.
