Old mini or new mini ?

Which do you prefer? We own a 1967 Austin Mini Countryman and always get nice comments and interest when we take it for a spin.|||OLD MINI the BM double poo crap doesnt have the right to be called mini, it should be the BMW small or something!|||The old mini,s are a class act.the mini clubman was a cracking little motor.they always get the admirers. The MAINTENANCE WAS THE KEY.watch the front and rear subframes, keep them clean and free of rust, grease the rear swinging arm pivots regularly, fit the weather guard to protect the distributor, and check the distributor cap regularly for tracking, especially if it missfires. You should get around 6000 miles out of a set of tyres.52 miles to the gallon is the norm.you can fit another tank on the other side of the boot ,giving 10 gallons capacity in all.|||Silly question Old mini's, and my hubby's reached 120 miles an hour, it was a 1275 turbo!

I have a 1985 mini ritz it has been customised as it was falling to bit's.

The BMW is just no way any shape or form a mini they should have given it a different name.

At least the beetle is of simular specs to the old bugs, just slightly modernised.|||Old mini, if only because the new one isn't, well, particularly mini, is it? Being the size of a Golf and all....|||Old Mini.

The new ones are plain UGLY, a lot wider and longer.|||old mini. have a pic on one on my phone it has all the creature comforts a/c dvd etc. The owner spent a fortune to restore it ground up.

You can't beat and original|||oh my! no contest my mini is 100% free of bmw parts and is perfect, the new 'mini' is a mockery of everything the true mini represents, its 3 times the size, is generally ugly and the people who drive them would no doubt describe themselves as nutters or be an estate agent, bad stuff, when i drive my coop everyone loves it, other proper mini drivers wave and say hello...once a new 'mini' waved i looked away aghast x|||I would say there are two opinions.

1) Old Mini for car lovers and starter mechanics.

2) New Mini for car drivers and the future.

It's the only thing you can commend BMW for when buying a Mark such as the Mini and turning it into what you see today.|||OLD MINI DEFINATELY

the old ones have character, and are different, the new crappy BMW crap is boring and is like everything else.|||i like them both but rather have a ferrari|||I love my New Mini is is very reliable and fun to drive. I never drove the old one, but the new one built by BMW is like driving a go cart! Fun|||I love the older ones myself|||I love the old minis but I think the new ones look pretty cool too

VW's are brilliant too|||Those who say the BMW is crap, boring, etc., etc obviously haven't driven one, especially the Cooper variants. There is really no comparison between the two, but I agree that the BMW should have been given a different name so as to preserve the REAL Mini - I had two of them!|||Old mini, new minis are BMW's in disguise.|||I've had a handfull of the old mini's and loved them to bits..! Have not yet had a chance to drive a new one, but have been a passenger.. I love the way they have emulated the old one... and that is really the key... they have done as much as they could to 'emulate' the old one... so it by definition must have been special...!!

The new car is great I am sure... and I am a big fan... would love one... but I don't think it can beat the old one for that go-kart feel... like you were sitting on the road... and you could throw them around without a worry..!

So... it's the old one for me...!! :)|||New mini, their faster !!|||Old mini definitely. The new one may be safer, faster and more comfy but will never beat the original. And it's Jarman...|||New mini but the old one's are special
