I'm looking to get this as my new college car and all of my family members have Minis and they all run on Premium. So I was wondering if this one is different. All I can find on google is the type of fuel for the Clubman.|||While Nathan is correct the WORST thing you can do is run regular fuel. It retards timing to prevent engine knock and you loose performance and can cause deposits in the head / valve train.
The old adage of pay me now or pay me later. I've run premium since 05 with no troubles
Neighbor runs regular has had $3500 in repairs on the motor on 20K less miles|||The Countryman shares the same engine as all the other MINIs, from Cooper to the JCW S model. MINI recommends the use of Premium fuel in all models. While this may sound expensive if we use an typical fill-up of 10 gallons, the tank holds 13 and change, we don't want to get to low now, the cost difference for a fill is only about $3 and if we avg to a once a week fill that is only $156 more a year.
That said, the computer will adapt to a lower grade fuels. It will come a cost in performance however and if you have a catastrophic event with the engine MINI will most likely test the fuel. If the find it does not meet specs they can deny coverage.|||The Countryman uses the identical engine to the other models ..................
