I have a 85 stand up kawasaki jet ski. When I bought it the motor had been worked on %26amp; only had 9 hrs on it. Its been sitting for at least 5 yrs. I charged the battery %26amp; tried to start it, 1st i made a spinning sound, twice but now it I hear one click when i push the start button. Any suggestions on what to do or check? This was my 1st jet ski so i know very little about them.

Great people there that will answer all of your questions.|||Take your spark plugs out and put a cap full of two stroke oil down each hole. This will lubricate the cylinders upon startup.
Now, it sounds like there is something wrong with your starter. I had a superjet that would just click when you hit the start button and it turned out that the starter motor had gotten water in it and rusted. I took it apart and cleaned it up and it worked perfectly.
Before trying to start it I would make sure that your battery is fully charged, that could cause the symptoms you are talking about.
After putting the oil in the cylinders, grab the pto and turn the motor over by hand, it should spin smoothly with some effort to spin the engine. If you can not move it, it's likely your engine has seized/rusted over the 5 yrs. (bad!)
You are also going to want fresh gas and at least carb cleaned but a rebuild would be much better.
Anyway, good luck. They are fun!|||dont try...your only gonna damage the cylinders...take it to a shop and let them lube it up first
