I have a 2000 Vstar 650, I've only been riding for a few months. I "think" that your throttle/grips are held on by adhesive (According to the description at least). I'd rather not have my grips go flying off while im riding, so is it really simple or should I just avoid it and keep my current ones.

I slipped mine on and marked the grip and switch box with a dot (magic marker) before applying the glue. Once the glue was applied I pushed the grips on in one quick motion.
I've been told that the tape used to adhere golf club grips is easy to use and allows for adjustment before it sets.|||replacing your current grips is a very simple operation to do ,just make sure to clean the bars good with acetone making sure to remove all the old glue before putting glue and sliding the new grips on
