Led light problem. what cuases blinky blinky?

When I first purchased my road glide. If I applied the brakes the brake light and turn signals would flash for a few seconds the solid brake light. The other night my lights on the rear would not come on at all. no turn signal no brake light.

I have voltage. I have checked for ground. I went and purchased a similar looking kuryakyn light. ( I don't know that its the same. I did not buy the first one) I replaced fuses one burnt other was ok. I disconnected the light for license plate. Now when I apply brake the directionals blink for a few seconds the brake light just comes on.

I miss when they all would go blinky blinky for a few seconds. wtf is wrong. Is it a relay that causes the blink. Is it the control board the lights are on. The license plate frame makes no diff if plugged in or not. I have service manual on order. I don't expect it will be much good. Is there a wire DAI. on line.|||You don't say what year the bike is. Did you buy it used?

The previous owner might have installed a module that can be hooked into the rear turn signals and brake light that does the blinking. I Have one on my bike for just the brake light called a BACK OFF.

I believe BADLANDS makes a module that does what you are describing. That module might need to be replaced. If someone added that module it would most likely be accessed by removing the seat.

Edit: Yes it would be wired in line. It would be in a place where you could wire it to the brake light along with the 2 directional signals so beneath the seat would be the most likely place. Not real familiar with where they run the wires on that bike.|||its probably a short caused by vibration, lots of that in the back on the fender!|||Its the shakes that make the lever go blinky blinky ...stupid drunk|||AFTERMARKET FLASHER UNIT INSTALLED ON YOUR BIKE!!!!

Note....this 25cent kid...( quarter sense...as I like to call him )....don't know his @$$ from a hole in the ground...HD has NOT used flashers in close to 20 years..they currently use a TS/SM...Turn Signal/Security Module.

The factory lights DO NOT FLASH as how you describe them. You have an aftermarket flasher module installed on the bike somewhere!!!

You didn't say what model it is...so it's hard to say where it is. It is most likely under the seat or if it's a dresser model, it could be located under one of the side covers. There is either a wiring issue between the module and the light or a bad module. A remote possibility also is you MAY have LED bulbs in the turns that have built-in flashing circuitry that has gone bad.

Without being able to see the bike....that's about as much help as I can be. There are numerous modules on the market...Badlands, Biketronics %26amp; KuryAkyn are the 3 biggest sellers.

These are 3 examples...
